Jesus turned, saw them following and said to them,“What are you seeking?”

The question Jesus asked his earliest followers is the question we still ask today. We are all grappling with the big questions in life. What do we believe this life is for? Can we really believe in God? How will faith change us? Hasn't science proved that religion is make-believe? Can I be forgiven? What hope is there for our children?

St John's is a group of people drawn together by God from all walks of life in the community of Pemberton. We live by faith that it is in Jesus Christ that God has revealed the central truth of life, that God is love. This gracious, forgiving love brings new life out of the confusion and brokenness of the world. Jesus called his first disciples, as he calls us, to share the Good News, that God is with us, and through his Church, calls us into life-giving relationships, with God and our neighbours. We are all guests at Christ's feast, and as we follow him we hope to walk the journey of faith with you. Nobody is a Christian alone, together we belong to Christ, as his friends. As we seek to grow in our relationship with God he gives us one another, to pray and serve together. At St John's those who can gather during the week for prayer at 9am, as do thousands of other Christians across the world. If you would like us to pray for you, please email Fr. Philip.

You are welcome to join one of the small groups meeting regularly to share faith and friendship. Come and join the shared work of our community lunches, or collecting food for the Brick in Wigan. If you enjoy singing, no matter how shy you feel about it, Anne Wynne, our Director of Music will help you learn to sing with confidence and joy.

If you would like to arrange for your child to be christened, or would like to explore baptism yourself, contact Fr. Philip, the Vicar.
